Flexible coving cornice mouldings were introduced to the Axxent range in 2014. Where bendable coving cornice is needed for curved walls and curved window bays this is a unique option. Use with the rigid version of the coving cornice profile to reduce overall costs.
The Axxent coving range is designed for most homes with a 2.4m (8ft) ceiling. Many more recently built homes do not have coving which leaves the room looking square and harsh. There can also be cracking problems exposed between the walls and ceiling due to small movement. When redecorating it is simple to add coving which will transform you room. Axxent covings are straight forward to install, requiring only DIY skills. An order in the morning will be dispatched same day for delivery next day (weekdays).
Axxent Duropolymer coving is manufactured by an extrusion process which results in sharp detailing, often better than plaster coving which can be more rounded at the edges. Axxent coving also damages less easily than plaster coving, but being lighter it is a one person task to install. There is less finishing to this coving as it is primed and only requires a top coat of paint. An added bonus being a polymer material is that Axxent coving is ideal for bathrooms and kitchens as it is completely impervious to moisture.
Coving samples can be ordered online for a small fee to cover our costs. Please go to the individual coving product pages to order the coving sample. Sometimes it is a good idea to order more than one style of coving to compare the designs.
Axxent coving will not expand and contract overtime to the extent that plaster coving will, which is prone to cracking. Being a polymer material it is also stronger. Using the DecoFix Extra (FX210 or FX200), joints will fuse and become extremely strong, stronger than the coving itself. As Axxent coving is lightweight there is no need to pin, the grip adhesive is all you will need. Use DecoFix Pro (FDP500) for interior porous surfaces, such as existing plaster walls and ceilings. For newly plastered surfaces, non-porous surfaces, damp environments (bathroom and kitchen) and exterior use, use DecoFix Hydro (FDP700). The grip adhesive can also act as a filler in small gaps between the wall and ceiling. Butt the straight lengths of coving together, this will also give better joins, and only cut the mitre joints at internal and external corners. The coving is supplied primed so finish with decorators corking and fine sandpaper, then apply a top coat of paint. Installation is a much simpler task than plaster coving. An instruction sheet is supplied with each delivery.
