Box in Pipes

2010-03-01 09:37:32

If you've ever worked on your hands and knees fabricating a case to cover waste pipes in the bathroom know it's a chore worth avoiding.

Our newly extended range caters for virtually any situation, simple profiles to cloak 15mm pipes or large 90 degree pipe boxing to hide soil pipes.

In addition we now offer Pendock products made from sustainable sources, and Contour Casings suitable for domestic use.

The latest "Government scrappage scheme" has seen a rise in boiler pipe casings sales too.

Artistic Wall Panelling

2009-12-05 23:56:13

One of our local Property Developers popped in earlier today and mentioned the difficulty in sourcing good old fashioned vertical wall panels.

You have probably seen them many times, wooden tee and gee running underneath a dado.  If like my friend you're struggling to find something suitable take a look at our new PX147, which can clad a wall above an existing skirting or above an Orac skirting of your choice.

The finishing touch is a tough architrave (in this case used horizontally as a dado).  Try either the DX119 or DX121.

Unlike timber you'll not suffer from seeping resin, but just a consistent clean surface. Remember all Orac interior products need just one coat of paint.

Why use Orac Luxxus?

2009-11-17 23:18:35

We are unwittingly programmed to expect certain things when we buy anything from a bar of chocolate right through to life's bigger ticket items like cars and houses.

No doubt there are many sub-divisions in the realm of consumer expectation, but broadly speaking many folk face just 2 choices in making purchasing decisions.  How cheap is it?  How good is it?

If you're looking for cheap and cheerful then your expectations will be low, and your expenditure less.  So let's assume you want to re-decorate the downstairs of a average home.  Do you go the whole hog?  New coving, dado, and skirting?  Or do you just paint over what you've got?

If your budget is tight then The Orac Axxent range may just be the answer.  32 metres of skirting, coving and dado might set you back to the tune of £500, whereas the Luxxus equivalent would be £1,000.

So why bother?

Well as I have been renovating our new showroom I have been asking just this question.  The Axxent looks good, and the place is really beginning to look special. Tonight I started using the Luxxus P9010 panel mouldings.

It is 6 years since I last fitted the polyurethane Luxxus material.  I now wish I'd chosen to use more, the cutting and mitre trimming is just so easy, and the end result certainly justifies the increased cost - if you can afford it!

We realise the House Martin On Line store caters for about 60% of the market, and we are lacking true bargain coving materials.  Watch out for an announcement soon, we are about to extend our range with the new Basixx brand, then we'll have something for everyone.

The Finishing Touch

2009-09-10 19:28:59

Today's new homes are built with a whole host of regulations in mind, and numerous features that we wouldn't have dreamed of back in the 60s.

Today we have all sorts of things like, low threshold doors, ventilation to bathrooms, and central heating.  Each of these relatively recent housing updates bring their own problems.  None more so than ugly pipes below a boiler in a cramped kitchen.

Do you really want to see copper pipes above your work surface?  No?  Then try our new "Box in Pipes" Boiler Pipe Casing which will smarten up your room.

GRANDE

2009-02-14 00:34:07

If you're a devotee of Starbucks then you can't fail to have noticed their enormous coffee mugs.  Grande, or very large to the average denizen of these shores.

Well if you like things on a large scale then why not add "Grande" contours to your home? Rather than make do with a miserly 4" x 4" plaster cornice why not investigate the 10" x 11" C336 cornice. You may wish to check your ceiling heights first, but for those of you residing in older properties this design may be just the ticket.

Looking at the installed profile no one could imagine that each 2 metre length weighs less than 3kg and can be fitted with just a fraction of the effort involved with old fashioned plaster designs.  The thought of dropping a plaster cornice of this size doesn't bear thinking about, drop the C336 and the chances are it will just need a wipe down and then be as good as new.

Just like the rest of the Orac coving range this product comes primed and needs just one coat of interior paint to provide a finish fit for a king!

Transformer?

2009-02-14 00:11:01

In the last eight years House Martin has been quick to spot new opportunities and offer innovative solutions to enhance the appearance of homes, offices, shops, and even amusement arcades.

We have provided everything from panel moulds for the exterior of arched window frames, to pediments for use inside fish tanks.

Now Orac are adding a minimalist panel mould to meet the needs of both modern properties and homes from the Victorian era. How can they hit these two apparently diverse targets?

In isolation as a moulding on the ceiling, or as dado rail the P9900 has geometric form that creates a pleasing shadowline.  At 8cm x 1cm it works well in a typical sized lounge or dining room.  The really clever part of the design comes when the product is added to the new C990 Luxxus coving, where it can be "topped and tailed" to transform a plain coving design into a large scale coving with tremendous elegance and pleasing twin shadow lines.

So there you have it a product for both traditionalists and today's IKEA style sparse interiors.

P9900 panel moulds both above and below the new C990 Luxxus coving.

Deeper Panel Mouldings

2009-02-13 23:48:44

Orac are the innovators when it comes to interior decor, and despite every Tom, Dick and Harry forecasting gloom and doom those clever Belgians have just launched new bigger panel mouldings.

The P8050 is 12cm deep and 3cm in thickness and features both convex and concave lines.  The product can either be used as a dado rail or installed as a substantial panel moulding to the ceiling.

Typical applications are larger homes, and hotels where spacious rooms would leave typical panel moulds looking thin and out of proportion.  We will be adding this to our range in the near future, and can confirm that it will also be available in a flexible format for easy installation onto curved walls.

New Wave Coving?

2009-02-13 18:15:44

Tired of small concave coving profiles? Fed up with small profiles that don't work with high celings?

Why not try the stylish new C335 Orac Luxxus coving profile?  This fabulous new design features both convex and concave contours to create a substantial wave like cornice profile.

The design builds on the succes of the smaller C333, but boasts a profile that can extend 20cm across the ceiling and 21.5cm down the wall.

What will surprise most installers is the sharpness of the design, achieved without the heavyweight drawbacks of plaster alternatives.

NEW extra large cornice and coving

2009-02-13 17:47:21

If you have high ceilings look out for the new Orac Luxxus C990 coving. In isolation this simple curve achieves a coverage of 160 x 215mm.

To add even more style combination with the P9900 allows an even more distinctive appearance by introducing a subtle shadow line.

The product is just going into production, do call us for more details.
