Our Orac Pilaster Collection offers a rich variety of designs suitable for both Interior and Exterior applications. Each pilaster is made from 3 component parts to give installers maximum flexibility on site. The majority of units are supplied as complete pilaster sets, but there are occasions where pilasters installed underneath a pre-existing pediment or canopy may not require capitals. Hotels and restaurants may require components behind or to the side of a bars, in which case plinth element will not be required. Full height pilasters will require all three elements, and these can be trimmed at the base or shaft to suit each application. Used inside buildings, Orac pilasters can add a useful third dimension to plain walls, and are often particularly effective in libraries, hallways and lobbies.

Each component is made from tough man made polyurethane, and has a coat of undercoat pre-applied. Once glued into place Orac pilasters will require one coat of paint to finish. Unlike traditional wooden alternatives these units will not rot, crack or warp and will easily outlast traditional alternatives. Your final coat of gloss paint should look good for years as the base material has no knots, and there will be no resin seeping about from behind to spoil the finished item.

Orac pilasters are a particularly useful match for exterior finishes, especially on properties featuring timber doors and windows. The front of a building will look infinitely smarter when all key components are decorated with one good quality gloss paint, rather than a variety of whites on pvc doors and windows,or grp surrounds. Our pilasters are often selected as an attractive compliment to a portico or canopy, where a detailing is required either side of an building entrance, in these instance they are often used in conjunction with our Full (360 degree) Columns.
