CX101 cornice is very lightweight and needs a minimal amount of adhesive to stick it to the wall and ceiling. The Orac Axxent duropolymer cornice range is widely used by tradesmen throughout Europe, where it has become established as the first choice in modern homes. By choosing the CX.101 cornice design you will be able to create one of most cost effective egg and dart cornice styles to your room. Installation of the CX.101 cornice is simple, requiring a few tools such as a rigid blade saw, mitre box and sandpaper. As a man made material you can rest assured that there will be no need for endlessly re-applying fresh coats which get absorbed into the product, which is a frustrating problem with plaster mouldings. This cornice product comes pre-coated with primer and will accept any quality brand of gloss or matt paint to produce a perfect finish. Ideal for Edwardian cornice.

Orac CX101 cornice or coving is a House Martin Interiors Orac cornice moulding. Supplied in 2m lengths this cornice profile is 7x7cm with a diagonal of 10cm. The design is a concave cornice with a convex egg and dart base and line detailing top and bottom. This cornice is essentially the same profile as the CX100 cornice, but with egg and dart cornice detailing. A larger version is the CX128 egg and dart cornice with a 13.4cm diagonal. The egg and dart cornice design consists of an egg shaped object alternating with an element shaped like an arrow, anchor or dart. This design can be found in Greek architecture and was often used in both Victorian coving and Edwardian cornice.
The CX101 egg and dart cornice is designed as a cornice for smaller to normal room sizes and rooms with lower to normal ceiling heights. It is a very cost effective cornice with more decoration than many cornice mouldings of this size and the styling of this cornice reflects that usually found in larger more ornate cornices. Ideal for; entrance way cornice, hall cornice, bedroom cornice, study cornice, kitchen cornice, dining room cornice, lounge cornice or cornice for flats.
A wide range of mouldings can be used with the CX101 egg and dart cornice. Consider the SX122 skirting board, SX137 skirting board, SX138 skirting board, particularly the PX 114 dado rail with its egg and dart design, PX103 dado rail, PX113 dado rail and the PX120 dado rail. However many other mouldings can be used, it is just a matter of personal choice.
